There are several ways to reduce the ecological footprint of batteries, and therefore of electric vehicles, mainly by recycling. New lighter battery technologies that last longer, with a second life, will also make an important contribution. These aspects will be addressed, but the emphasis will be placed on the multiple advantages of recycling as well as on the large projects for battery recycling plants in North America.
