Regular discount on the purchase of a plug-in vehicle
As with individuals, businesses, organizations and municipalities are eligible for purchase discounts of up to $ 12,000 for a new vehicle and $ 3,500 for a used vehicle.
Special feature for organizations: businesses, municipalities and public organizations established in Quebec can obtain a maximum of 10 new vehicle discounts per calendar year. However, the minimum registration period in Quebec must be 36 months.
Most manufacturers offer the option of directly deducting the government rebate from the total purchase price (after miscellaneous taxes and fees) *. It is also possible to manage the grants yourself to receive them directly from governments ... which is sometimes more advantageous from a tax point of view for a company.
The list of eligible models and the rebate amounts associated with each model vary for each program, and may vary depending the model-year. It is important to check the list of eligible vehicles on the website of each rebate program.

NOTE: It is not possible to benefit from both the federal grant AND the new depreciation categories. It is up to the organization or company to decide which program is the most beneficial.
* Tesla Company only offers this service for the federal grant of $ 5,000, if applicable (depending on the model chosen). The Tesla buyer will therefore have to take the steps himself to obtain the Quebec rebate of $ 7,000 (Roulez vert program).
