The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) helps municipalities to electrify their fleets and municipal services, covering up to 80% of acquisition costs in loans and grants.
All categories of vehicles are eligible for this funding. This applies to both municipality-owned vehicles (such as police cars and fire trucks) and private vehicles used to provide municipal services (for example, vehicles used for waste management or rented vehicles).
A pilot project grant program is also offered, up to $ 500,000 to cover up to 50% of eligible costs (for municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants, the grant can reach 80% of eligible costs).
